October 1st, 2016 marks the first day after the end of transition period for the UK’s Modern Slavery Act of 2015. The transition period ended September 31st, 2016 meaning that covered companies must post statements on their websites regarding the compliance with the UK MSA law. All in-scope businesses required to report steps taken to eliminate slavery from their supply chains and disclose steps to combat modern slavery via annual disclosure statements posted on website; must ensure slavery & human trafficking not taking place in their own operations & in their supply chain.
