In August 2016 The European Commission published a roadmap for evaluating Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators.
The purpose of the evaluation is to assess whether the Batteries Directive meets its objectives and contributes to the general objectives of the EU environmental policy and may result in improvements to the Directive.
