In July 2019 ECHA recommended adding the four phthalate substances to the REACH Authorisation list, Annex XIV. These are the same four phthalates that became restricted under RoHS Delegated Directive 2015/863 on July 22, 2019.

In July 2019 EU RoHS Delegated Directive 2015/863 restriction of four phthalate substances went into force. After July 22, 2019, the four phthalates are restricted at a maximum concentration value of .1% homogeneous material weight in electrical and electronic equipment.
